WhatsApp has recently updated its beta apps on Android and iOS both with new features respectively. The new beta updates also show improvements on Dark Mode which is ready for its stable release. We newly got to know that WhatsApp is working on making available one WhatsApp on multiple devices for users. A new update now shows how this feature will work.
WABetaInfo discovered sightings of WhatsApp’s multi-platform support, in the WhatsApp beta version 126.96.36.199. WhatsApp will always ask for a registration/ verification code, whenever you login into a different device and setup. Similarly, WhatsApp will also ask for registration code when users are trying to login WhatsApp on a different device.
WhatsApp allows multi-platform support only for Whatsapp Web at the moment. However, this comes with the limitations as your phone needs a stable internet connection and it needs to be close to the desktop as well. It was reported in the previous update, that chats on WhatsApp will still be end-to-end encrypted as the company is “developing a new method to assign keys to specific devices.”
The new update brings more visibly small rebranding for the messaging app. That took place recently was the placement of “WhatsApp from Facebook” on the messaging app. Now when users open the app, the WhatsApp splash screen will greet them with “from Facebook” visible below.
The new update also said to bring Dark Mode Theme for WhatsApp. But there is still no word when it will be available for Android.
