Microblogging site Twitter is finally bringing its OLED-friendly ‘Lights Out’ dark mode theme to Android users. However, only the alpha version of the Twitter app will get the new feature. The Light Out mode is different than the existing dark theme on Android and works specifically well for smartphone using OLED display. It turns the interface of the Twitter app to pitch black instead of dark blue/grey in the Dark theme, which helps at power consumption on Android smartphone.
If you are using the alpha version of the Android app, go to the settings and privacy option on the app to enable the Lights Out mode on your Twitter app. It will show you the Drak Mode appearance menu. According to reports, the OLED-friendly Lights Out dark mode is currently available for users on alpha version 8.19.0-alpha.03 of Twitter for Android.
There is still no information about the automatic dark mode is coming to Android. The ‘Dark Mode’ allows users to switch from light to the dark mode theme of their choice according to their timezone. The feature will save the user’s time and energy and will be beneficial for users who use Twitter throughout the day.
