Samsung has started rolling out updates for its Galaxy devices. However, March is still yet to come but the company has already started rolling out the March 2021 Android security update for some of its devices.
According to reports, so far the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Tab S7, and Galaxy A8 (2018) have received the March 2021 security update. Galaxy S21 users in Taiwan should be getting the new update, as per a report by Sam Mobile. It’s sized around 378MB and its firmware version is G99x0ZHU1AUB7. The Galaxy A8 (2018) has been surprisingly among the first devices to get the latest updates, and this time too with the March 2021 security patch. Sam Mobile notes it’s hitting the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Fold as well.
Galaxy Tab S7 series is also getting the update along with a bunch of features. Some of these features were revealed by Samsung to come with a new update for the Galaxy Tab S7. It includes the “Pen to text” function that turns handwritten notes into digital text. The S Pen will also be able to detect any punctuation and spacing, according to Samsung.
This update also adds the Dolby feature in Dex mode while improving the stability as well. This update should improve the stability of the fingerprint sensor on the Tab S7. Samsung Daily is also being replaced with Samsung Free service with an improved UI and different functions.
It looks like the software update rollout is taking place in phases so users can check if their device has received it from the settings menu.
