Xiaomi announced that the MIUI 11 stable update for Redmi 8A and Redmi 8 will be rolled out starting November 13. Both smartphones launched a few months ago in India. Both the smartphones launched with MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie. Now the company announced the next generation MIUI 11. Both the Redmi 8 and the Redmi 8A users in India have started receiving MIUI 11 update. This appears to be a pleasant surprise for users. The budget-friendly phones such as Redmi 8 and Redmi 8A is rolling out MIUI 11 stable update so soon. Some Redmi 8 and Redmi 8A users must have already got the update while some will receive it in upcoming days.
The new MIUI 11 stable update is now available to download with a tonne of UI tweaks and new features. The MIUI 11 update for the Redmi 8A has the build number v11.0.1.PCPINXM and is 544MB in size, while that for the Redmi 8 carries the build number v11.0.1.PCNINXM and is 600MB in size. The update also brings with it the October Android security patch. However, it must be noted that the latest MIUI 11 stable update for the Redmi 8 and Redmi 8A is still based on Android Pie, and not Android 10.
The MIUI 11 update carries lots of improvements and features to the Redmi 8 and the Redmi 8A. It also introduces an overhauled UI that removes a lot of clutter, improves touch controls, and also adds the sounds of nature feature for alarm ringtones as well as dynamic music feature for incoming notifications. It also adds the in-house Mi Share file transfer feature for quick file sharing between phones. There is also a document preview feature, which as the name suggests, allows users to see a document’s preview before opening it.
