Lenovo on Tuesday launched a new laptop in India. The newly launched ThinkBook Plus is the latest entrant in the company’s ThinkBook laptop series and it is a part of Lenovo’s end-to-end solution for the small and medium business enterprises in the country.
The Lenovo ThinkBook Plus costs ₹99,990 and it is available for purchase on Lenovo.com and Amazon.in in Iron Grey colour variant.
The newly launched ThinkBook Plus has a 13.3-inch full HD main display on the inside and a 10.8-inch e-Ink display on the cover, which can be used for sketching and taking notes using Lenovo’s Precision Pen. The e-Ink display is made from Corning Gorilla Glass NBT, a glass solution for touch-enabled notebooks that provides enhanced scratch resistance, and reduced scratch visibility.
It is powered by IML i5 or IML i7 processor that is coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage space. It runs on Windows 10. The newly launched premium laptop comes with a backlit keyboard and it features support for VoIP calls. In addition to that, it has speakers by Harman and Skype-certified microphones. It also comes with Amazon Alexa built-in. It has one USB-C port, two USB 3.0 ports, one HDMI1.4b port and one combo mic/audio port for connectivity.
The design innovation around ThinkBook Plus was based on customer insights and data relating to multitasking work practices. According to an International Data Corporation (IDC) report, Lenovo replaced Dell in the second position with a 27.5 percent share in the India PC market in the second quarter of this year.
“We are very gung-ho about the India market. We have got the momentum on our side and we are very ambitious and we would like to continue building products and solutions which cater to Indian SMBs and Indian enterprises and consumers,” Ashish Sikka, Director – SMB, Lenovo India, told IANS in an interview.
Apart from launching a new laptop, Lenovo also introduced three new services. First in line is the Lenovo Premier Support, which is a priority service support providing 24x7x365 direct access for advanced hardware and software customer support. Lenovo says that it delivers unscripted tech support by a Lenovo engineer to every employee in every location of the SMB in turn allowing the IT staff to manage routine support tasks, freeing up their time to focus on strategic efforts that move the organization forward and benefit from a priority on service parts delivery.
Next in line is the Lenovo ThinkShield, which is a custom solution that secures the critical data and business technologies with comprehensive end-to-end protection. The company has also launched Smart Fleet Services, which is an IT asset management service that is designed to help SMBs gain control of their endpoints, increase security and compliance, optimise end-user experience, and automate routine manual tasks to free up IT time and resources.
Lastly, the company has launched a service called Device-as-a-Service (DaaS), which combines hardware, services and software into a single, configurable solution for a predictable, affordable periodic fee. Lenovo says that the flexible financing supports customers seeking to restructure their IT infrastructure without having to make significant CapEx purchases at a time when cash flow is limited.
“At Lenovo, we offer end to end IT management for SMBs freeing IT staff to focus on strategic efforts and get time on their side. Today we are excited to share some of these services and solutions and introduce the perfect device solution for the new workforce – ThinkBook Plus. In Q1 FY2021, we became #1 in the SMB segment with 32% market share, and we are on a strong path of transitioning from a PC supplier to an end to end services and solutions provider,” Ashish Sikka, Director – SMB, Lenovo India said on the occasion.
