It appears Facebook has been deceiving using your camera without your knowledge while you’re scrolling your feed. At least if you are on an iPhone, that is. The issue has come to highlight when a Facebook user took to Twitter report unusual behaviour of camera. In the footage, he shared, in which his camera was activated automatically whenever he was using the Facebook app.
After a lot of indignity over this latest privacy bungle, the problem becomes visible. The executive said that bug was introduced with v246 update when it fixed another issue, where the Facebook iOS app was incorrectly launching in landscape mode in V244. This might be a bug, Facebook is saying that it is resigning a fix for the same to Apple Store. The fix should be available on the App Store sometime today.
In case you are worried about the same bug cropping up your iPhone. Then, there is no need to be worried. You can deny Facebook permission to use the camera and microphone. You just need to go the setting app of the iPhone users privacy and camera tabs. If you want to upload a picture on Facebook, give the app access only when needed to do so.
